Division 4

John Wyro represents the Moraga-Orinda Fire District’s Division 4 and is currently Board President. He and his wife, Evans, have lived in Orinda since 1982. They have two daughters who went through the Orinda public school system, where their younger daughter, Emily, now teaches 4^th grade at Glorietta School. They also recently greeted their first grandchild, John, born to their older daughter Ali, in Naples, Italy.

John has a Bachelors degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. Prior to becoming involved in the residential land development business in 1979, he worked in city management, with responsibility for budget and employee relations a major part of his work.

John has always been involved in community service. Since moving to Orinda, he has coached girls sports, served on the OIS Parent Board and as well as a term on the Orinda Union School District Board in the ‘80’s. He was their representative to the General Plan Committee when Orinda incorporated. John was appointed to the Orinda Fire District Board in 1995 and was very involved in the formation of the Moraga-Orinda Fire District and served as its’ first Board President. He was recently honored as one of the “Volunteers of the Year” by the Orinda Association for his work on the Orinda Infrastructure Committee.
