Guys - a minor point given the gravity of the situation but one that should be made: we note your referral to a June 8 story on the rescue at Orinda Way when EastBayDaze - soon to become "Lamorinda Patch" - had it all, down to the difficulties encountered in effecting the rescue, THAT AFTERNOON, June 5.
We were talking to the guys on Truck 41 when the call came in.
Just as the "Jakeys" competed to be the first house on the scene back in the bad old days, we believe it pays to be there "first with the most."

You did a wonderful job on the situation in Orinda. Thank God for people like you who are able to go into a highly stressful situation and be able to THINK before acting. I watched the video and I cried. Partially for the poor men, partially for the stupidity of people. I heard one lady scream "throw water on them". How more people didn't get hurt is beyond me. You all are awesome and wonderful and appreciated for what you do. And anybody who has a different opinion is a moron, so I say! Thanks again for always being there, even for the stupid people.
