Board of Director Pete Wilson Steps Down After 13 Years

Board of Director Pete Wilson was honored by the community on February 17, 2010. During the regular Board of Directors meeting, Director Wilson was given accolades for his service to community and the Moraga-Orinda Fire District. He was presented with proclamations from the City of Orinda and Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. He was also honored by the Fire District for his duty and dedication to the people of Orinda, Moraga and Canyon, and given a ceremonial axe, a symbol of honor in the fire service.
Director Wilson was appointed to the Board of the "old" Orinda Fire District. He served as Vice Chairman of the Orinda Study Group to plot the course of the Orinda Fire District, and on the joint Moraga and Orinda study group which formulated the application to LAFCO to merge the Moraga and Orinda Fire Districts. He was elected to the first Board of Directors of the Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District in 1997 and served as President in 2005 and again in 2009.
Director Wilson and his wife have three daughters and seven grandchildren.
