Community Services

The department is committed to the safety and education of the communities it serves.  Our goal is to provide every citizen within our district the highest level of life safety awareness training available.  We will continually work to spread the message of fire prevention, safety awareness and public education to all members of the community.  These programs may be modified to meet the needs of the intended audience.  For more information regarding life safety education and training, please call the Moraga-Orinda Fire District Fire Prevention Division at (925) 258-4525 ext. 533.

Safety Education School Program

The Moraga-Orinda Fire District is committed to providing the highest level of fire and life safety education to our schools. Our K-5 program is taught by our Firefighters in the classroom.

Each presentation includes visual media, lesson plans and exciting activities and demonstrations for children to learn about staying safe from fires and other life-threatening situations.

The curriculum builds upon basic safety lessons as children advance through the grades.  Our safety education program is designed to provide age appropriate information that will help prevent or reduce common accidents for children and their families in the home, at play  and in the community.

Because we live in an area that is close to nature, our program includes valuable tools and information on how to prevent fires in the wildland urban interface (WUI).
