NOTICE OF VACANCY OF OFFICE
DIRECTOR, DISTRICT 2

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Board of Directors of the Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District (“District”) of the County of Contra Costa that a vacancy on the Board of Directors will occur effective August 30, 2026, as a result of the resignation of John Jex, District Director, District 2, whose term of office expires on December 1, 2028. The District Board of Directors will fill the vacancy under the procedures of Government Code section 1780 by appointing an individual to the office.

Who Can Apply:

• Must be a U.S. citizen. 
• Must be a registered voter.
• Must not have been convicted of a felony involving accepting or giving, or offering to give, any bribe, the embezzlement of public money, extortion or theft of public money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit any of those crimes. 
• Must be a registered voter residing in District 2 of the Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District.

Interviews:  Interviews are scheduled in the evening on October 8.  Additional interviews, if needed, may be scheduled in the evening on October 14, 21, and 27.
