The Moraga-Orinda Fire District (MOFD) is proud to recognize the Rescue One Foundation for its continued dedication and generous financial support of firefighter training and public safety initiatives. Through a recent contribution, the Rescue One Foundation has provided funding to allow MOFD firefighters to participate in high-angle rope rescue training, a specialized course designed to enhance operational readiness and firefighter safety during rescues in complex vertical or elevated environments.
This three-day program has provided hands-on instruction in advanced rope systems, victim packaging, and technical rigging techniques. The training has better prepared all MOFD firefighters to respond safely and effectively to low-frequency, high-risk rescue incidents throughout the District and surrounding areas.
“Investments like this directly translate to increased safety for both our firefighters and the community,” said Fire Chief Jeff Isaacs. “The Rescue One Foundation’s ongoing commitment to funding critical training and equipment continues to strengthen the capabilities of our District and enhance our mission readiness.”
The Moraga-Orinda Fire District recently acquired new rope rescue equipment through a countywide grant. This training ensures firefighters can fully utilize this modern equipment to its maximum potential, ensuring rapid and efficient response to technical rescue incidents.
The training was instructed by North Valley Training Associates (NVTA), whose expertise and professional instruction provided MOFD personnel with the advanced technical skills necessary to perform complex rope rescues safely and effectively.
Founded in 1977, the Rescue One Foundation has supported the Moraga-Orinda Fire District for nearly five decades, funding essential life-saving equipment, training programs, and community outreach initiatives. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations directly benefit the safety and preparedness of MOFD personnel and the residents they serve.
Community members who wish to support future training and equipment purchases are encouraged to donate to the Rescue One Foundation. Contributions can be made through Venmo or PayPal by scanning the QR codes below or visiting https://www.rescue1foundation.org/.
