Fire crews from the Moraga-Orinda Fire District will be burning piled material at the John Muir Land Trust Property just North of Wagner Ranch Elementary School on Wednesday and Thursday, April 8 & 9. The project is scheduled to begin around 9:30 AM and should be completed by 4:30 PM each day.

MOFD is coordinating the burn with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the Orinda Union School District and the John Muir Land Trust. Our goal is to ensure the project objectives are met and operations are conducted safely, with minimal impact to the community. The project is part of the Fire District's effort to maintain the North Orinda Shaded Fuel Break.

If conditions become unfavorable the work will stop and be rescheduled. Residents in the Monte Vista neighborhood of Orinda and motorists driving on San Pablo Dam Road/Canino Pablo and Bear Creek Road may see or smell smoke.  MOFD will continue to provide information related to the project on MOFD’s Facebook page.
