NOTICE OF INTENT
ESTABLISH AND IMPOSE FEES FOR AMBULANCE TRANSPORT AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held for the Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District Board of Directors to consider enacting the following proposed ordinance:
ORDINANCE NO. 26-04: AN ORDINANCE OF THE MORAGA-ORINDA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY REVISING A SCHEDULE OF FEES AND COLLECTIONS POLICIES FOR AMBULANCE TRANSPORT AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AND SUPERSEDING ORDINANCE NO. 25-02.
All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing, which will be held as part of a regularly scheduled meeting of the Moraga-Orinda Fire Protection District Board of Directors on May 20, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., at the Orinda Library Auditorium, 26 Orinda Way, Orinda, CA 94563. This meeting will be held in a hybrid format, with the public able to attend in person or virtually. Details on how to participate will be available on the May 20, 2026 agenda for the Board of Directors, published at www.mofd.org/agendas. SUMMARY OF THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE: Ordinance No. 26-04 revises the fee schedule and collections policies for ambulance transport and emergency medical services and supersedes Ordinance No. 25-02. The ordinance establishes updated ambulance service fees and related collection policies, including waiver provisions when payment would not be in the public interest.
The proposed ordinance is available for review at www.mofd.org/ordinances-resolutions, and a certified copy is available upon request by contacting the District Clerk at (925) 258-4501. The data indicating the amount of cost or estimated cost required to provide the service, along with the revenue sources anticipated to cover those costs, including General Fund revenues, is available for public inspection at the District Office, 1280 Moraga Way, Moraga, CA 94556.
