Fire crews from the Moraga-Orinda Fire District will be burning piled material today at the Segora Te' Land Trust near Canyon, CA. The project is scheduled to begin around 10:30 AM and will be completed by 4:30 PM.

MOFD is coordinating the burns with CAL Fire and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. Our goal is to ensure the project objectives are met and operations are conducted safely, with minimal impact to the community.

The project is part of the Fire District's investment to reduce wildfire risk and maintain our Shaded Fuel Breaks. If conditions become unfavorable the work will be rescheduled. Residents in Canyon and motorists driving on Pinehurst Road may see or smell smoke.
