Selling a home? The Fire Code requires that sellers provide buyers with a Certificate of Compliance as part of the real estate transaction.

All property transfers require an in-person inspection conducted by a Fuels Mitigation Specialist in order to obtain a Certificate of Compliance.

How to Submit a Application for a Certificate of Compliance

Requesting an On-Site Inspection (fees apply): District staff will schedule and conduct an on-site inspection.

This fee includes one re-inspection to verify completion of corrective actions.

Submission of self-compliance photographs is permitted at the time of re-inspection only and is subject to the discretion of the Fuels Mitigation Specialists

Applying for a Certificate of Compliance

Enter all relevant contact information in the designated fields. Contact types may include Applicant, Listing Agent, and Current Owner.
Please note: Including all relevant contacts ensures each party has access to the application status.
Provide the full property address or the Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN).

Upon submission of the application, an application number will be assigned. The inspection fee will then be available for payment, which may be completed either through the online application portal or by issuing a check. Checks can be sent to the address below for processing. Please allow for a processing period when paying by check.

Once payment is received, the application will be assigned to the Fuels Mitigation Team for inspection scheduling.

Certificates are valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Please allow approximately two to three weeks for processing.
