Welcome to the first citizen-inspired foundation in the State of California dedicated to the support of its local fire district and emergency medical service.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Rescue One Foundation is to receive and administer donations in order to enhance public safety by providing advanced medical and safety equipment, supplies and educational services for the Moraga-Orinda Fire District.

Scholarship Writing Contest - Deadline to Apply August 1, 2020

The deadline for the student essay contest sponsored by the RESCUE ONE FOUNDATION and the Moraga-Orinda Fire District has been extended at this time to August 1, 2020 because of the ongoing  COVID-19 concerns.

MOFD and Rescue One Foundation are offering a $500 scholarship writing contest on the following topic: Innovate uses of existing technology to increase the effectiveness of emergency evacuation notifications in MOFD’s jurisdiction.

Students may submit contest essays to 1280 Moraga Way, Moraga, CA 94556, at any time during this extended deadline.

Background Information, Existing System, Evacuation Scenarios, & Assumptions from the Fire Chief.  The purpose of this essay contest is to identify new and innovative ways to contact residents in the event of an evacuation. Creative ideas are encouraged and MOFD appreciates your participation in this contest.

The Rescue One Foundation has invested in over $500,000 of community donations for the purchase of supplies, training, and equipment – such as, the Lucas device / chest compression system, Pulse Oximeter, LifePak, and Stair Chair.
